Environment Studies and Management
The "Environment Policy" adopted by PII and its members commits to conduct its operations compatible with the environment. The refineries have well established systems and procedures, which ensure compliance with the norms for handling liquid/solid wastes and in continuously reducing the emissions. This has been possible by way of installation of modern facilities as required. Modernization has been the key word to take care of stringent regulations in vogue. Besides, operating level changes have been incorporated in the plants such as SO2 emissions control by installation of sulfur recovery units, CO Boilers to burn CO generated.
