Feasibility Studies
Before a decision to implement a project is taken especially requiring high capital, there is need to establish its viability and to economically justify any proposal. In this regard, feasibility studies need to be carried out. This involves in-depth collection and analysis of the data such as market demand and the supply demand balances for the future scenarios, selection of site, project /process selection including configuration of the process units, Technology source, estimation of capital and operating costs, financial analysis, Environmental impact during construction and subsequent running of the plants, indicating the project execution plans and human resources requirements, etc.

In some cases , there may be need to establish studies to evaluate sale and acquisition assets for which PII has the capabilities to carry out due diligence studies for the prospective clients.
It is pertinent to mention that the Indian hydrocarbon sector has been able to grow and develop over the years for which numerous feasibility and environment studies have been conducted. Hence, PII and its associate members have the background and vast experience to cater to the need of the clients. Besides, PII has made its presence felt in the global scene by assisting the clients in carrying out such studies.

Assist management studies for a client with the objective to take over the refinery and its terminal in Madagascar, which was conducted in 1998-1999.Susequently PII became the prime advisor for the acquisition process including g providing bid assistance.

PII conducted pre-studies for rehabilitation of the Solima Refiery, Madagascar to Rehabilitate the refinery which was in a depilated stage.

The services of PII were requisitioned to assist some prospective clients for carrying out technical due diligence of Port Hartcourt refinery under Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Nigeria. These studies were conducted in view of the likely privatization of the refinery and were carried out during 2005-2006.

One of the challenging job for a Canadian client whose business interests was to operate in the upstream sector of Oil and Gas in Nigeria, requiring downstream Refining facilities to be put up as apart of the perquisite by the Government. In this regard, a detailed Feasibility Study was carried out by PII to propose investments in a phased manner, starting with a simple refinery configuration and subsequently to add process units and increase the refinery complexity in a progressive manner from the returns available over the period .As observed , the work on feasibility considered progressive investments made from the operations over a time with further objective to maximize the profitability and returns with stage wise investments through expansion. The assignment was completed to the full satisfaction of the client.
